In March, the 2020-21 "Elite 8" teams are announced. Typically, these teams would take part in oral debate finals in New York City. However, due to the ongoing risk posed by the pandemic, the 2021 IPPF Finals took place virtually on Friday, April 30, and Saturday, May 1, 2021.

We are pleased to announce that the 2021 IPPF World Champion is Slovak National Team from Bratislava, Slovakia. The team wins the $10,000 grand prize. This year's runner-up is Montgomery Blair High School from Silver Spring, Maryland. Montgomery Blair wins $3,500.

The semifinalist teams — The Hockaday School from Dallas, Texas, and Potomac Oak from Rockville, Maryland — each win $1,500.

​

The quarterfinalists were Hobby School of Ulaanbaatar from Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia; Ivy Bridge Academy from Johns Creek, Georgia; Peak to Peak Charter School from Lafayette, Colorado; and Troy High School from Troy, Michigan. Each of these teams win $750.
