April 13, 2021 — Colorado Hometown Weekly reports that "[s]tudents’ perseverance through the pandemic is something that’s not up for debate."
During the 2021-22 school year, a team of four Peak to Peak Charter School students spent countless hours writing, researching and constructing arguments as participants in the International Public Policy Forum (IPPF) — and those students have now advanced to the finals of the 20th annual contest.
During virtual debate finals, the team will compete for a $10,000 grand prize and the title of “IPPF World Champion.”
“I think it was kind of surreal,” said Peak to Peak junior Alvina Zhang. “It was a lot of hours of work and having to have a lot of brainpower and dedication to the essays, so I think it really paid off in the end.”

As someone who loves seeing students showcase their hard work and dedication, I’m truly inspired by the Peak to Peak team’s achievement! Reaching the finals of such a prestigious global debate competition is no small feat, it reflects real perseverance and teamwork. I remember preparing for my own projects and debates, spending late nights organizing notes and essays with spiral binding to keep everything neat and accessible. Wishing these talented students the best of luck in the finals!
