IPPF in the classroom:
a flexible framework for educators

The Brewer Foundation is pleased to provide a standards-aligned outline of classroom activities designed to help teachers cultivate persuasive writing skills and prepare students for participation in the IPPF. Whether students are drafting a competition essay or simply engaging with big ideas, this unit offers a structured path for educators to guide them through each stage of the process — from brainstorming and research to drafting, revision, and final submission.

This is not a one-size-fits-all curriculum. Instead, it’s a flexible framework. Some teachers may extend the sequence over several weeks or even a full month to meet classroom goals and student needs. Others may choose to adapt or personalize the activities entirely.
Think of the plan as a ladder of instructional support — a tool educators can climb, reshape, and pace to fit their needs.
